Cerritos has officially established a Sister City relationship with San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines, marking a new era of international collaboration. The partnership aims to promote cultural exchange, educational connections, and business relationships between the two cities.
Mayor Frank Yokoyama praised the agreement, emphasizing its importance in strengthening Cerritos’s multicultural ties and honoring the large Filipino-American community in the area. The city’s Sister City program dates back to 1964, when Cerritos first began engaging with cities abroad to promote goodwill and shared learning.
Future plans include cultural festivals, student exchange opportunities, and joint environmental initiatives to highlight sustainability practices in both communities.
