Two young boys and several deputies were honored for their lifesaving efforts in rescuing a toddler from drowning at Don Knabe Park in Cerritos. Officials recognized the group in a ceremony that praised their courage and quick thinking (FOX LA).

Witnesses said the boys first spotted the child struggling in the water and called for help, while deputies immediately jumped into action to save the toddler’s life.

The Sheriff’s Department commended the group, saying their bravery demonstrated the power of community responsibility. “They did not hesitate to act,” one official remarked.

The toddler’s family expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who stepped in, calling them true local heroes.
